Winter Resort (Group 2)

Ciel looked up from his mischievous activities. "Who's that?" he asked Sayuri. He couldn't exactly see over the seat like she could, especially with Ethril all pressed up against his side and wrapped around his leg.

He was rather stuck there.

Kitty looked around her. So far nobody had chosen to sit next to her, and she didn't recognize the teacher standing nearby.
typical...
She brushed her hair over her eyes and leaned her head on the frosty window as her stomach clenched up inside her.
I hate field trips...
She could hear girls chattering in front of her, lost in a world of their own. Kitty didn't want to be alone, but she definitely did not want someone like those two chatterboxes claiming the seat next to her...

"... want some?"
Kitty jerked up from her position. A girl behind her was holding out a bag of... what were those? They looked like plump beads of a sickly purple color.
Kitty refrained from wrinkling her nose.
"Umm.... no thanks."

Ciel laughed. He wasn't being mean, but he knew exactly how that felt. "Ma!! Was it a rock song maybe?" he asked. "It's happened to me before. So sorry, dear! Are you quite alright?"

He was doing his best to suppress his chuckles then. It was rude. "Désolé!" When he was under control again he spoke once more. "And hello, whoever you are."

Kitty felt a pang of anger heat up her body.
"Kitty." she said bluntly. She then turned sharply and resumed her position. Her head accidentally smashed into the window, but she didn't move. It would just show that she was hurt.

I don't care, I'm not just 'whoever you are'

"... Okay. Hope you didn't crack your skull." Ciel went back to his business. He was just getting out of his angry past. He wasn't about to start up with some little girl.

"Miss Sayuri," he called to her, "what music do you like? I hadn't noticed your headphones until now."

Kitty let out an annoyed breath. She could tell this one had about as much patience as she did.
"nope." she muttered. She cautiously prodded the bump on her head. She winced as she touched the open seam. It wasn't large, but she decided to be more careful as she slid her hand back into her jacket.

"Well," Ciel called to her from his seat. "If you want it, I do carry first-aid. Always have." Sure, he wouldn't humor her attitude, but he wasn't a jerk. He'd at least make sure she wasn't bleeding.

"You can even do it yourself. Don't even have to see me." He reached into his bag to fish it out and held it in the air. "I'm even willing to throw it over there, so long as you return it... Kitty." Patrice was the only other person he didn't address as a "Miss."

"oh, thanks" she mumbled. "but it's not bleeding." she overtook her sourness just long enough to look at him.
"Hey, you're that guy with the fairy," she said.

"Yes, I am." Ciel tried to steady his temper a bit as he put his kit away. Ethril seemed to have fallen asleep attached to him, so he couldn't move much. He settled on just propping his arm up on the window and resting his head in his hand. He sighed through his nose a little too hard and it came back to hit him, jostling his hair a bit. He scowled then.

He really was irritated if his magic was that out of control.

"Since you've seen my Patrick, I'm going to assume you're Sir Garon's friend, oui?" He cleared his throat to try and get rid of some of the animosity. "And yes, but I don't own him, Miss Sayuri. He's a friend of mine from back home. I'm not really so large as all this either," he added with a smile in Sayuri's direction.

"Yeah, I'm a friend of Garon's." She peered over the seat.
"Are you two together?" she smirked as she gestured to Ethril with her head.

what do you know? I just asked if they were a couple....

Ciel looked down at the girl clinging to his arm. It was an odd question for him. He couldn't even tell if people thought he was attractive, let alone maintain a "relationship."

"Ma... It's a very complicated thing. As far as anyone else is concerned..... yes. I suppose, we are a couple for all intents and purposes." A notion hit him then. "You're actually one of the first people to ask. No one ever does. Any reason for your query, Kitty?"

Kitty raised an eyebrow. "Intents and purposes? Don't you just like each other?"
She pondered this, until she realized he had asked another question. "Oh? I was just wondering. Ethril never told me anything about it. But after I saw you two at the pool last week, I assumed that was the case." Kitty clamped her mouth shut. " S-sorry I was blabbing."

"It's... it's this thing with my heritage." They weren't really the best of friends, so he wasn't going to spill out his life story to her. "I don't feel right calling her my girlfriend. I do like her though. More than anyone I've met here, and most of the people at home too."

He pursed his lips when she was so quick to shut her mouth. "Well we certainly weren't a couple yet when we were at the pool... But, were you... Were you spying on us?"

((Sayuri is just going to sit and listen to this, it's far more interesting to her than interjecting))

A forlorn looked flashed across Kitty's face, but disappeared in an instant.
"No, definitely not. I was just coming out of the library because... ah, never mind, but anyways, I saw you two sitting there, and you looked pretty in love to me... but I didn't stop for long." Kitty tugged on a sack tucked deep inside her knapsack.

Ciel tugged at one of his curls. "Well... no. I actually upset her quite a bit. More than a bit," he admitted. "If you saw us hugging, it was me trying to make her feel better. She's a rather clingy person, as I'm sure you can tell," he added lifting his afflicted shoulder a bit. It barely moved.

"But why so sad?" He was honestly intrigued when such a facade touched her. Emotions weren't something that could be hidden around Ciel, but he still didn't see a reason for it.

Kitty suddenly pushed aside all her stubbornness and let her curiosity overtake her. "you don't look like the type to hurt people...." Kitty recalled the previous incident.
"well, not intentionally anyways, and certainly not Ethril..."
Kitty puffed her cheek up with the last comment. "It's none of your business." She settled down and with a final jerk, she heaved the plastic baggie out, ripping it open, sending fish crackers flying. She hastily scooped them up with her nimble fingers.

"Oh, okay then." He stretched his legs back out and dropped his arm from the window. "I assume we're done talking then, Kitty?" He hadn't met someone who would just completely stop a conversation from one question. Especially with people they didn't know. But whatever.

He shrugged in his seat. "If you still care to know, no. It wasn't intentional. And she admits that she kind of reacted a bit strongly. I'd almost never hurt anyone on purpose."

"hm. Interesting." She decided not to pry anymore. Besides, they had basically announced the end of their conversation, so why drag it on?
Plus, she was hungry.
She ravenously started devouring the fish biscuits, but her eating manners were surprisingly formal, unlike her conversing demeanor.
"Yuck," she suddenly exclaimed. "Someone needs to clean this floor" she frowned

Ciel sighed. Of course she'd start complaining. He could already tell this was not someone he'd like getting to know. Though he didn't much care for her, he did hope someone said something to her. Otherwise she'd just look like an idiot. He didn't mind that too much though, but apparently, she did.

((Kitty has effectively scorned Ciel. There is next to zero chance of him speaking with her and even less than that of them becoming friends. Just letting you know :< ))

She stuffed the perfectly ruined crackers back into her bag and rested her hands on her arms, staring out into the distance. The pink haired man is strange she thought to herself. Why did he try being nice to her anyways? She buried her head deeper into her arms and began to rest, but she kept one eye slightly opened, just in case.

Ethril had unintentionally fallen asleep while clinging to Ciel. The rocking motion of the coach had not been something she would have expected. Dream like memories flashed through her mind at their normal rapid pace until she felt her waking mind start to take control once more. Ethril kept her eyes closed though as she listened to Ciel and that Kitty girl talk. She thought about Ciel's reply to the question of if they were a couple. What did that mean? Ciel was clan and they were in the beginnings of a courtship, but Ethril knew that Ciel had obligations he had to fulfill. Were they a 'couple' then?

Ethril pushed the confusing thoughts out of her mind and opened her eyes. Now that she was fully awake she slowly let go of Ciel. She must have been stressed out if she'd been holding onto him that hard. Usually she wasn't that clingy when she slept. Ethril stretched, but kept her wings tight against her back. She didn't want to unintentionally hit someone. She then looked at the girl Ciel had been talking too.

"You're still hurt." Ethril said bluntly as she looked at the wound on Kitty's head. The first aid kit that Ciel had brought out was still unused. With a sigh she reached out and pointed her fingers at Kitty's head. It wouldn't do for someone to be injured before they arrived at their final destination. During an adventure if you left a wound unhealed then everyone would suffer for it. A gentle gold glow surrounded Ethril's hand and the jewel on her forehead glowed as well. The light swirled and then seemed to caress Kitty's wound and within seconds the injury that had been there seemed to fade away.

Ethril lowered her hand and yawned. "Sorry for falling asleep Ciel," Ethril smiled in embarrassment.

Ciel felt Ethril stirring beside him and sent his gaze in her direction. He smiled when she sat up. "Welcome back dear," he said rather cheerfully. It'd been agonizing with her just sitting there as this annoying girl prattled on. He frown a bit when he watched Ethril attempt to fix the wound Kitty had given herself.

"She said there wasn't anything wrong," he muttered. It's not that he wanted her to stay hurt, but she was a fair bit too snippy for his tastes. A lot like he used to be actually. "And it's fine that you fell asleep," he reassured the girl next to him. He patted her hand and rested his head against hers. "I don't mind it at all."
